Salmon have not yet started their run, but I caught one anyway due to Brad’s expertise. I cannot recommend him highly enough. He knows the Manistee, where the fish are, where the snags are, was so nice to fish with for my daughter and me. Best guide I’ve ever had on a Michigan river, and I’ve been coming up here for years.

My first time in Traverse City, and I was only there for one night. Beautiful town, lots to see besides going fishing. Hotels are expensive, so be prepared to pay more than you expect. Totally worth it though if you book with J. Young Outdoors for your fishing trip. Jordan's the best!

He will do everything he can to help. I would do it all again just as soon as my arm rests up from reeling in 2 big ones.

- Wear layers as the day can start cool, then get warm.
- If you’ve not done salmon fishing, listen to the captain’s instructions! They want you to be great at this! :)
- Remember to soak it all in. Catching the fish is great! But so is being on Lake Michigan seeing a sunrise (or sunset), being with friends and/or family in the adventure, and just enjoying the time.

FishGH – Kingpin
The Captain recommended we go out an hour later to catch more fish in the dark, and he was certainly right about that. Once the sun went down, the fish started biting. And we got to see the most beautiful sunset on the boat, which I will never forget.
